Corps Member

• ​Jumpstart members have the unique opportunity to inspire young children to learn, serve in a local community, collaborate with others on a team, and build professional skills. All members receive high quality training to help them implement Jumpstart’s outcome-based program, promote children’s school success, and build family engagement. Corps members serve children ages 3-5 in preschool classrooms. Jumpstart members complete an intensive commitment and make a substantial impact on the life of young children. During the school year, members serve 300 hours, 8-12 hours per week by fulfilling classroom and on-campus responsibilities. If interested, click here to apply or learn more.

Preschool Program Partner

• Interested in having passionate young adults work with your classroom on a weekly basis? Our Corps Members love getting to know the children and teachers in their classrooms they get to be in all year-long. 

• While we do have limited capacity for the number of classrooms we work with, we are always looking for new partners. If interested in learning more, send us an email at jump@pitt.edu!!

Community/Corporate Partner​

• Jumpstart only succeeds in the classroom with the support from partners in our communities, with schools, local community leaders, and families. Outside of the classroom, we need help in materials creation for our children and event support to spread Jumpstarts impact where we welcome corporate, small-business partners, or student organizations in our communities so we can achieve success in the classroom. 

• We hold programming and events throughout the year where partnership and sponsorship is needed, but we also are open to any opportunity to spread the importance of early literacy to prepare for kindergarten. If you have a great idea for a partnership, send us an email at jump@pitt.edu!!

Jumpstart National

• Jumpstart Pittsburgh is one of 70+ sites across 15 states. While we do the work on the local level here in Pittsburgh, the national level needs support in order to support us!
